Jacksonville’s UPSL Premier and Division 1 Semi-Pro Soccer Teams
Bold City Soccer Club proudly represents Jacksonville with two teams in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL): our Premier team, playing in the highest UPSL division, and our Division 1 team. Our mission is to develop and elevate talent—blending rising young players with experienced former professionals—to help bridge the path to higher-level teams and opportunities.

Premier Team Head Coach, Fabian Banchiero
Fabian Banchiero is CEO of Banchiero Sports,Co-Founder/General Manager of Coerver Coaching Argentina and was General Manager and Assistant Coach for CH4BOLD FC. Fabian held coaching positions at Prime Sports, Trinity Baptist College, and Coerver Southeast in Jacksonville. In New York, Fabian was Technical Director and Assistant Sporting Director for Newell’s Old Boys USA Soccer Schools and Director of Coaching at Kosmos FC. He was also a Director at New York Cosmos and Super Soccer Stars. Fabian has received the Professional A Coaching License from AFA/ATFA (Argentina), has licenses from the NSCAA including the State, National Youth, Advanced Regional, Advanced National and DOC Diplomas; and is a graduate from the NYU Sports Management Program. Fabian has played and coached at amateur and semi-professional levels in the US for almost 20 years and has worked in different capacities with many professional teams and soccer organizations in the US and Argentina.
Division 1 Team Head Coach, Derrick Wertz
Coach Derick brings over 20 years of playing and coaching experience to Bold City Soccer Club. A former semi-professional player in Pennsylvania, he competed at the Division I Junior College level in New Jersey.
Based in Jacksonville for over 12 years, Derick dedicates himself full-time to athlete development, integrating his deep soccer knowledge with elite sports performance training. He holds the prestigious United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.
Additionally, Coach Derick serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the U.S. military, optimizing human performance. His extensive certifications—including NSCA-CPT, TSAC-F, XPS, XFS, PES, and USAW1—highlight his commitment to excellence. Coach Derick’s holistic, athlete-first approach ensures purposeful, intense, and supportive development for every player.
Division 1 Team Assistant Coach, Bryce Flinchum
Coach Bryce, founder of Bold City Soccer, has been playing soccer since the age of 3 with various clubs, schools, and organizations along the East Coast. He currently plays as a starting defender for CH4BOLD FC, a Jacksonville-based UPSL semi-professional team. Bryce has served as a club team captain, worked as a licensed soccer referee, and holds a US Soccer C Coaching License. He is also pursuing a degree in Business Management at the University of North Florida.
President, Brian Flinchum
Brian Flinchum serves as President of Bold City Soccer Club’s UPSL Premier and Division 1 teams and as an Executive Director on the board of Bold City Soccer Club. Since co-founding Bold City Soccer Academy in March 2023, Brian has been instrumental in building it into one of Northeast Florida’s fastest-growing youth soccer organizations.
Brian led the club’s expansion into adult competitive soccer by launching two semi-professional teams: Bold City Soccer Club’s UPSL Premier and Division 1 squads. These teams create a structured pathway for players to progress from youth development to high-level adult competition.
An accomplished entrepreneur, Brian is the founder and owner of Mr. Clean Bins, Florida’s largest residential trash bin and commercial dumpster cleaning service. He has also held senior roles with leading captive insurance firms, including AIG, Artex Risk Solutions, and Atlas Insurance.
Brian holds an MBA and a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His strategic leadership continues to drive Bold City Soccer Club’s commitment to excellence and community impact.
General Manager, Denise Flinchum
Denise Flinchum serves as the General Manager for Bold City Soccer Club’s UPSL Premier and Division 1 teams and as an Assistant Director on the board of Bold City Soccer Club. Denise oversees player enrollment and event coordination for Bold City Soccer Academy and plays a key role in team formation and game-day operations for both semi-professional squads.
Beyond her soccer responsibilities, Denise is also a co-owner of Flinchum Properties in Georgia and previously founded and managed a dance studio in Vermont. She holds degrees in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and in Nursing from Jacksonville University, along with certification in Massage Therapy. Denise’s diverse background and dedication to community engagement enable her to make meaningful contributions across multiple fields.
Where Do We Compete
Bold City Soccer Club is led by a management team with a proven track record of building successful semi-professional teams, including advancing a previous club from Division 1 to the Premier Division of the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), recognized as the fourth tier of professional soccer in the U.S. The UPSL features two competitive levels: Division 1 and the top-tier Premier Division.
Bold City Soccer Club will begin competing in Division 1 in September 2025. Meanwhile, their sister team, CH4BOLD FC, earned promotion to the Premier Division at the end of the Summer 2024 season and completed a full year at that level, improving its winning percentage each season. Most of CH4BOLD FC’s starting lineup has since transferred to Bold City Soccer Club’s new Premier Team, ensuring a strong foundation for continued success.
